Jharkhand Job Aspirants Form 11-Member Delegation for Talks with State Govt Over Exam Irregularities

Ranchi: Demonstrating progress toward resolving an escalating standoff, job aspirants and student activists protesting alleged irregularities in state recruitment examinations have formed an 11-member delegation to engage in direct negotiations with the Jharkhand government.

The delegation has 8 students, a lawyer and technical experts - a total of 11 people. The list has been handed over to the SDO. The venue and time to be decided by the State Govt, and students will be informed of the same.

The development follows an invitation extended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s administration, which reached out to the agitating students at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi.

The protest, spearheaded by the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, has been ongoing in the state capital, with several aspirants undergoing an indefinite hunger strike. 

The core grievances centre on allegations of paper leaks, lack of transparency, and procedural anomalies in major state recruitment tests, including:

Aspirants are demanding the immediate cancellation of the exam held on April 19, citing non-disclosure of category-wise cut-off marks and unverified merit lists.

Protesters allege widespread leakages of answer keys and "backdoor appointments," calling for a comprehensive review of examinations conducted by third-party testing agencies.

Demonstrators have rejected the ongoing state CID inquiry and are demanding an independent probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or a panel composed of retired High Court judges from outside Jharkhand.

While senior local officials, including Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kumar Rajat and ADM Dhananjay Kumar, initially invited a smaller group to meet the Chief Minister at his residence, the student collective deliberated and finalised an 11-member team to represent their unified charter of demands.
