Chitradurga: A woman lost her life while trying to cross the road at night near Basapura village in Molakalmuru taluk in Karnataka's Chitradurga district after a speeding car hit her, causing her to fling in the air, resulting in her death at the spot.

A tragic hit-and-run case in the Chitradurga district of Karnataka has claimed the life of a woman. The deceased has been identified as Ananthamma, a resident of K. Rayapura village in Kudligi taluk. She had been working at a coffee estate with her family in Sakleshpur for the past decade. The accident occurred while she was traveling to her native village for Shivaratri celebrations.

Horrifying visuals of the hit-and-run case have emerged in which it can be seen how the unknown four-wheeler hit the woman, flinging her in the air and causing her immediate death before fleeing the spot. The incident took place near Basapura village in Molakalmuru taluk. 

It can be seen in the video that the victim had just gotten off a KSRTC bus near a highway bridge and was attempting to cross the road to reach Rampura Village when an unknown speeding car, traveling from Ballari to Challakere, hit her and fled the scene. 

Police Case Registered, Investigation Underway

The woman died on the spot due to severe head and leg injuries. Rampura PSI Mahesh Lakshman Hospet visited the accident site and conducted an investigation. Authorities are actively working to trace the vehicle involved.
