Karnataka Sex Scandal: Suspended JD(S) Leader Prajwal Revanna Taken to His House for Spot Inspection

Hasaan: Nearly a week after Prajwal Revanna's arrest, a Special Investigation Team on Saturday took the suspended JD(S) leader to his house at Holenarasipura in Karnataka's Hassan district for spot inspection. The 33-year-old, who recently lost the Lok Sabha election as an NDA candidate from Hassan, is currently facing sexual assault charges.

According to police sources, SIT personnel escorted Prajwal, the former Hassan MP, to his Holenarasipura residence under heavy security, and the entire area was cordoned off as a precaution. Wearing a black T-shirt and a mask, Prajwal visited his home for the first time since April 27. He had fled to Germany after explicit videos purportedly showing him sexually abusing women went viral.

Prajwal, the grandson of former Prime Minister and JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda, returned to India on May 31 and was subsequently arrested by the SIT, which was set up to investigate the sexual assault allegations against him.

Prajwal's father, Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, and his mother, Bhavani Revanna, are out on bail in a kidnapping case involving the abduction of a woman  who had allegedly figured in scores of videos of sexual assault allegedly by Prajwal.

Allegations Against HD Revanna, Prajwal Revanna

• In her complaint, the victim, who used to work as a cook in JDS leader's residence has claimed that both HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna used to sexually assault women workers.
• “Whenever (HD) Revanna’s wife wasn’t there, he used to call the women to the storeroom and offer them fruits while touching them inappropriately. He used to remove saree pins and sexually assault women,” the complainant alleged. 
• “Whenever Prajwal Revanna returned home, anxiety permeated the household among the six female staff members. Even male colleagues advised us to be careful”, the FIR registered by the woman complainant said.
• The victim claimed that Prajwal also behaved inappropriately with her daughter during a video call. "My daughter blocked his number after repeated calls," the complainant said.
