Kodela Siva Prasada Rao no more, commits suicide

Former Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker and Telugu Desam Party leader Kodela Siva Prasada Rao has committed suicide at his home in Hyderabad on September 16.

Former Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Kodela Siva Prasada Rao has reportedly committed suicide at his home in Hyderabad on Monday, September 16, 2019. The TDP leader was 72 years old and is survived by his two sons and a daughter. The former Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker was shifted to Basava Tarakrama Hospital where the doctors announced his demise.

Kodela Siva Prasada Rao born on May 2, 1947, was a Member of Legislative Assembly from Sattenapalle constituency. He served for 5 years as the Speaker of the first Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the year 2014. In a career that ran over 3 decades, he served as a cabinet Minister in N.T., Rama Rao and N. Chandrababu Naidu governments. Kodela Siva Prasada Rao has held various portfolios as a minister including Home Affairs, Health, Major Irrigation department, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Civil Supplies.
