Kolkata Rape-Murder: Sanjoy Roy, Main Accused, To Undergo Lie Detector Test Today | Updates

Kolkata: In a latest update, three more have been arrested by the Calcutta Police in connection with the vandalism of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The CBI on Saturday conducted the lie detector test of Sandip Ghosh, the former Principal of RG Kar Hospital and four other doctors. The polygraph test of main accused Sanjoy Roy will be conducted today (Sunday). 

A mob had vandalised the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on the night of August 14 during peaceful midnight protests seeking justice for Abhaya after she was raped and murdered in the seminar room of the same hospital.

RG Kar Mob Vandalism Case: 3 More Arrests By Calcutta Police

In a latest update in the Kolkata Rape and Murder Case, three more have been arrested by the Calcutta Police in connection with the vandalism of RG Kar Hospital. 

The total arrest in the mob vandalism case has now gone up to 40.

RG Kar Ex-Principal Sandip Ghosh To Undergo Polygraph Test Today

The CBI can question the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh again today; so far he has been questioned for about 100 hours.

The polygraph test machine has reached the CBI office and the probe agency has prepared the setup; experts of the CFSL Team under Home Ministry will do the polygraph test of six characters one by one.

• West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum staged a protest in Tollygunge demanding justice in the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder incident. 

• As protests continue against the Kolkata rape-murder case, actor Paoli Dam says, “We always say that justice delayed is justice and we feel sad and bad to talk about something that has happened in my city of joy, city of love, Kolkata, where I am born and brought up, and where we have always felt safe from the time I've been growing up. Never I've felt threatened to walk around in any part of my city, and in 2024 we are talking about safety and security of women; it's pretty stand and suggests where are we standing.”
