Maharashtra: 8-Foot Long Python Found Inside Potato Box in Chandrapur's Hotel, Sparks Panic
A video of the incident went viral on X showing the massive reptile coiled in a box on top of some potatoes.
Mumbai: An 8-foot-long python was found inside a potato box in a hotel in Maharashtra 's Chandrapur spreading panic among customers. The massive non-venomous snake was found inside a box of vegetables kept in the hotel in Lohara.
A video of the incident went viral on X showing the massive reptile coiled in a box on top of some potatoes.
The hotel staff said that the snake was discovered when one of them went to get potatoes. As soon as the employee opened the box to get the vegetable he found the snake sitting on top of the producer in the box.
After this, the worker ran out of the room in fear and informed about the snake in the box. Upon knowing about this incident, the hotel owner called a snake catcher and moved the reptile from the box.
As per reports, the reptile was released in the nearby forest.
This incident comes days after last week a similar incident occurred in Lucknow, where a python was found stuck on the fencing of a powerhouse. The officials had to shut down the power supply to rescue the python.
Officials from the electricity department and forest carried out a rescue operation and removed the snake from the fencing.
In a separate incident, a 5-foot-long python was found hiding behind a school bag in MP's Dahr, causing alarm. The incident occurred when a seventh-grade student from Indira Colony, picked up her bag and discovered the snake. Panicked, she ran out of the house screaming.
Her father informed, and he quickly contacted the forest department and snake catcher and the reptile was handed over to the department safely.
