Man Arrested for Glorifying Terrorism, Terror Commanders in Kashmir

Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has arrested Showkat Ahmad Dar, a resident of Shalimar, Srinagar, for disseminating extremist content and glorifying terrorism on social media. Operating a Facebook page under the name Shaddy Kashmir Dryfruits, Dar was actively engaged in posting and sharing material that praised terrorist commanders and incited anti-national sentiments.  

An official said that acting on credible intelligence, CIK launched a swift investigation, tracking his activities despite his attempts to evade detection by frequently changing locations. Upon his arrest, a preliminary inspection of his digital devices revealed access to his radical Facebook account, along with incriminating content, including a video of slain terrorist commander Zakir Musa and other extremist propaganda. 

"Dar has a history of involvement in radical activities. He was previously arrested in 2019 for stone-pelting incidents in Srinagar and was later detained by Cyber Police in 2022 for spreading extremist content online. Investigations into Dar’s network and possible associates are ongoing, with further legal action to follow," officials said.
