Massive Fire in Delhi’s Motia Khan After LPG Cylinder Blast; One Dead

New Delhi: A massive fire broke out in a house in Delhi's Motia Khan, on Sunday afternoon, following an LPG cylinder blast, officials said. The fire department received a distress call at around 3 PM, after which four fire tenders rushed to the scene to douse the flames. One person died and 2 fire personnel were injured after a fire incident due to a cylinder blast. A total of four fire tenders were rushed to the site.

According to the fire department, the blaze started inside a house and quickly intensified due to the cylinder explosion.

"A call about a house fire was received at 3:01 PM. The fire broke out at house number 10554 in Gai Wali Gali, Motia Khan. Due to an LPG cylinder blast, the fire spread rapidly," an official from the fire department stated.

The fire department managed to bring the flames under control, but during the operation, one charred body was recovered from the fourth floor of the house, officials confirmed.

"Our teams successfully controlled the fire. However, one body was recovered from the fourth floor," a fire official said.

Two firefighters, Station Officer Ravinder Singh and FO Ved (13/65), sustained injuries while battling the blaze.

"Two of our personnel suffered injuries while trying to control the fire. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment," the fire department added.

The situation was brought under control by five fire tenders, and an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire.
