Jammu: A passenger minibus was involved in a road accident on Saturday evening near the flyover in Jammu's Bakshi Nagar, leaving at least 35 people injured. According to reports, the vehicle was reportedly carrying participants who were returning from a Tiranga Yatra when it lost control and crashed.
As per reports, the police and emergency services reached the spot soon after the crash. All those injured were taken to Jammu's Government Medical College Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
The police have taken cognisance of the incident and registered a case. An inquiry has been launched by the police to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
Sources suggested that the minibus was travelling through the busy Bakshi Nagar area when it met with the accident close to the flyover. It is claimed that the vehicle swerved before crashing, causing panic among passengers and pedestrians at the site.

The police sources stated that around 35 people sustained injuries in the mishap, a figure that remained subject to verification by the hospital or police at the time of filing this report.
Injured Admitted To GMC Jammu
The police sources stated that all the injured passengers were shifted to GMC Jammu for medical care. The doctors said that most of the casualties had suffered bruises, fractures and shock, and were being monitored. The relatives gathered at the hospital through the evening as news of the accident spread.

A senior hospital official stated that treatment was being provided to everyone admitted and that their condition was being assessed.
The Jammu Police said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident and that further inquiries are in progress.
It was later established that all those on board had been returning from a Tiranga Yatra held earlier in the city. The yatra had drawn large crowds earlier in the day, and the minibus was among several vehicles ferrying participants back home when the accident occurred.
