IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm & lightning over Arunachal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Bengal & Sikkim for next 7 days.

New Delhi: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Coastal & North Interior Karnataka between 10 and 11 June, according to a release by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
With southwest monsoon advancing into more parts of North Arabian Sea and parts of Maharashtra today, conditions seemed favourable for further advancement of monsoon into more parts of north Arabian Sea, parts of South Gujarat and some more parts of Maharashtra during the next two days, the release stated.

With a cyclonic circulation lying over northeast Assam and a trough extending from northwest Bihar to Nagaland in lower tropospheric levels, the weather department has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next seven days.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh between 10 and 14 June.

Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are also expected to witness heavy rainfall on 10, 13 and 14 June, the release said.
A very heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Assam and Meghalaya and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from 11-14 June and for the period between 13 and 14 June in Arunachal Pradesh.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is very likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha during 12-14 June, while Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh could witness light to moderate rainfall during the next five days.
Isolated hailstorm and squally winds (50-60 kmph) is expected over south Madhya Pradesh on 10th & 11th June, 2024 while heavy rainfall has been forecast for Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 10 June, 2024.
