Mpox: Monkeypox or Mpox is caused by a virus and leads to rashes and flu-like symptoms. The virus which causes Monkeypox comes from the Orthopoxvirus, same genus which causes the smallpox.
How Mpox spreads?
One can catch the disease by coming in close contact with the person who is already exposed to the virus or an infected animal.
What kind of virus does Mpox have?
There are two known types of Mpox virus — one that originated in Central Africa (Clade I) and one that originated in West Africa (Clade II). The current world outbreak is caused by Clade IIb, a subtype of the less severe West African clade.
Mpox signs and symptoms
The first few symptoms of the Mpox may start appearing in a few days to weeks after a person is exposed to the virus.

- Practicing safe sex.
- Wearing a mask.
Mpox infections are generally self-limiting, lasting between two and four weeks, and its patients usually recover with supportive medical care and management. It is transmitted through prolonged and close contact with an infected patient.
