Worli Hit-And-Run: Mihir Shah, the main suspect in the Worli hit-and-run case in Mumbai, and his two friends drank a total of 12 large pegs of whiskey, with each having about four pegs, as reported by excise officials citing the bar bill. Reports claimed that such a quantity of alcohol can lead to intoxication lasting up to eight hours. Shah and his friends left the bar at 1:30 am on Sunday, and the accident took place around 5 am, just four hours after their drinking session.
Following the hit-and-run case, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) took action on Wednesday against the Juhu-based Vice-Global Tapas Bar, which Shah had visited. The BMC demolished 3,500 square feet of what they identified as unauthorized construction at the bar.
Moreover, the state excise department suspended the bar's license for serving alcohol to Shah, who is under the legal drinking age of 25 and found other alleged regulatory violations at the establishment, officially listed as Don Giovanni Restaurant, Jobel Hospitalities Pvt Ltd.
If reports are to be believed, Mihir Shah allegedly provided an identity card claiming he was 27 years old at the pub, despite being 23 according to official records. The minimum legal drinking age in Maharashtra is 25.
Amid an ongoing probe in the Worli case, the pub's management claimed Shah showed them the ID indicating he was 27, which allowed him entry. Moreover, several reports claimed that Shah’s three friends, who accompanied him to the pub, are all over 30 years old.
The Mumbai police have recreated the entire crime scene in the Worli hit-and-run case. According to information from the Worli police, both accused were taken to the location last night, where the scene of the crime was reconstructed.
In the early hours of Sunday, a woman died after the two-wheeler she was on with her husband was struck by a BMW in Mumbai's Worli area.
