Israel Confirms Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar Killed, PM Netanyahu says Evil Suffered Heavy Blow

“Early this morning, Israeli authorities informed my national security team that a mission they conducted in Gaza likely killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.  DNA tests have now confirmed that Sinwar is dead. This is a good day for Israel, for the United States, and for the world. As the leader of the terrorist group Hamas, Sinwar was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans, and citizens from over 30 countries.  He was the mastermind of the October 7th massacres, rapes, and kidnappings.  It was on his orders that Hamas terrorists invaded Israel to intentionally – and with unspeakable savagery – kill and massacre civilians, a Holocaust survivor, children in front of their parents, and parents in front of their children,” White House said in a  statement. 

“Israel has right to defend itself and threat Hamas poses to it must be eliminated. Hamas is decimated,” US Vice President Kamala Harris said. 

Sinwar was responsible for killing of thousands of innocents. Sinwar had American blood on his hands. Sinwas was the mastermind of October 7," Vice President Kamala Harris said. 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said Israel had “settled its account” with “the person who carried out the worst massacre in the history of our people since the Holocaust”. Netanyahu said the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was an “important moment in the war” to bring home the hostages being held in Gaza. He also said anyone who surrendered weapons and assisted with the return of the hostages would be allowed to leave Gaza safely.

“Hamas will never again rule in Gaza and their fighters must surrender,” Israeli PM Netanyahu said after Yahya Sinawar killed by IDF.

“His elimination is an important landmark in the decline of the evil rule of Hamas. I would like to say again, in the clearest way: Hamas will no longer rule Gaza. This is the beginning of the day after Hamas, and this is an opportunity for you, the residents of Gaza, to finally break free from its tyranny,” Israeli PM Netanyahu said.

India has extended a new line of credit amounting to Rs 487.60 crore to the government of Mauritius for financing of a water pipeline replacement project, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday. "This is the first-ever rupee-denominated Line of Credit to have been extended by India for project financing to any country under the Indian Development and Economic Assistance Scheme (IDEAS)," the ministry said in a statement.

Soon after the Haryana assembly elections, senior Congress leader and former minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav on Thursday quit the party alleging shabby treatment after Sonia Gandhi left the post of party president. He said he was quitting the party and also resigning as chairman of the All India Congress Committee's (AICC's) Other Backward Classes (OBC) department.

The Union Home Ministry has asked all states to take steps, including implementation of a specific provision of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, for providing relief to undertrial prisoners and reduce overcrowding in jails.Overcrowding in prisons, especially the issue of large number of undertrials, has been a matter of concern for the government, the home ministry said in a communication to states.

A Sri Lankan national was arrested on Thursday while allegedly attempting to enter India illegally through the Sonauli border checkpoint in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj, officials said."Dilip Sampath Rajappa was apprehended during a routine immigration check when officials discovered that he did not possess a valid Indian visa or any other required documentation," said Additional Superintendent of Police Atish Kumar Singh.

Farmers collective Samyukt Kisan Morcha has said it will hold 'chetavani' (warning) rallies across 500 districts on November 26 to commemorate four years of farmers' march to Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested three men and claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of drug suppliers, officials on Thursday said.Police recovered 625 grams of heroin and five 5 kg of cannabis, worth Rs 2.52 crore from their possession, they said. On September 30, police arrested Devender, who was allegedly involved in smuggling. Total 625 grams of heroin was allegedly recovered from his possession, a senior police officer said.

At least 23 passengers were injured, 11 of them seriously, after a private bus they were travelling in hit a heavy vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Lonavala in Pune district early on Thursday, police said.The bus was travelling to Borivali in Mumbai from Kolhapur in western Maharashtra when the accident took place around 5 am, they said.

Eight coaches of the Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express derailed at Dibalong station in Assam's Dima Hasao district on Thursday afternoon, Northeast Frontier Railway officials said.There were no reports of any fatality or major injuries yet, they said.The cause of the derailment, which occurred at 3.55 pm, was yet to be ascertained.

The Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday shot two accused in the Bahraich violence case. The accused, identified as Sarfaraz and Talib, were trying to escape to Nepal when the police tried to arrest them.

The pattern of domestic airlines receiving bomb threats to their flights continued for the fourth day as two international flights, one each of Vistara and IndiGo, were targeted in the similar manner on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, seven flights of IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa received similar bomb threats. Prior to that, nearly a dozen flights operated by Indian carriers received similar threats on Monday and Tuesday.

The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to list for hearing an application seeking direction for restoration of the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir within two months. Advocate Gopal Shankarnarayan mentioned the application for urgent listing.

Various government departments in Maharashtra have removed orders published on the official website after the enforcement of the model code of conduct, following instructions from the office of the state chief electoral officer. The Indian Coast Guard in co-ordination with other agencies has undertaken an exercise along the coast of Goa and Maharashtra to protect the country's maritime interests and to test the agencies' collective response to security threats, officials said on Thursday. The two-day 'Sagar Kavach' coastal security drill began on Wednesday, the Coast Guard said in a release. The Coast Guard is conducting the exercise in co-ordination with the Indian Navy, Customs, Coastal Police, Central Industrial Security Force, Mormugao Port Authority and the Goa government's Fisheries and Captain of Ports departments, it said.

The Delhi Police has arrested Yogesh, also known as Raju, the main shooter involved in the killing of Afghan gym owner Nadir Shah, who was killed in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash area. During the encounter, Yogesh sustained a leg injury after being shot.

Delhi resident doctors held a protest outside the Banga Bhawan here on Wednesday, holding posters and banners to demand swift justice for a trainee doctor at Kolkata's R G Kar Hospital who was raped and killed in August. The doctors held a protest around 6 pm, holding banners that read, "In service of others, she gave her life." The Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) of AIIMS, along with other Delhi RDAs, held a candlelight protest at Banga Bhawan, demanding justice for their colleague and extending support to protesting medics in Kolkata.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will install smart traffic lights, including pedestrian signal lights, at 32 junctions in sectors 58 to 115 of Gurugram, to ease traffic congestion, according to an official statement on Wednesday. The work was approved for allotment today in the Tender Allotment Committee meeting chaired by A Sreenivas, Chief Executive Officer, GMDA.
