Amritsar: The alert personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended a Pakistani national near Border Out Post (BOP) Mulakot in the Amritsar sector. After the apprehension, the Pakistani suspect, identified as Mohammad Zaid from Hakima Wala, was thoroughly searched by the BSF personnel, and taken for interrogation. As per the reports, the authorities have initiated an interrogation to determine his intent and presence near the border.
The senior officials stated that the BSF has been vigilant in its efforts to prevent such attempts.
According to reports, Mohammad Zaid was attempting to cross the border when he was apprehended by BSF personnel. The suspect was thoroughly searched, and authorities are currently interrogating him to determine his intentions and the purpose of his visit.
There have been several instances of Pakistani nationals attempting to infiltrate the country in recent months. In January, the BSF apprehended a Pakistani national who was attempting to cross the border in the same sector. In another incident, a Pakistani national was arrested by the Punjab Police for allegedly spying on Indian military installations. The suspect, identified as Abdul, was arrested from the Amritsar district and was found to be in possession of sensitive documents related to Indian military installations.
The officials stated that vigilance has been increased along the border and adequate deployment of security personnel have been ensured to track any suspicious movement. Apart from manpower, advanced technology is being used to combat attempts to infiltrate the country.
