'Papa in the Drum': What Merchant Navy Officer's Daughter Told Neighbours After His Murder

Meerut: The Merchant Navy officer's murder in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut is getting more horrific by the day; Saurabh Rajput's mother has revealed how neighbours told her that the victim's daughter had tried to tell them about the crime, and had said that her father has been kept in the cement drum. Was he killed in front of his daughter?

The victim's mother has sought death penalty for her daughter-in-law Muskaan Rastogi and her family, along with Muskaan's lover, Sahil Shukla.

‘Papa Has Been Kept In The Drum’: Was Saurabh Rajput Killed In Front Of His Daughter?

The deceased Merchant Navy officer's mother, who is completely shattered by the death of her son, while speaking to the media, revealed how her granddaughter had probably seen the crime in front of her eyes or had some knowledge of it. Saurabh Rajput's mother said that the neighbours had told her that the victim's daughter had tried to tell them about the crime, and had said, “Papa has been kept in the drum”. This could mean that he was killed by his wife and her lover, in front of his daughter.

Merchant Navy Officer Murder: How the Police Came to Know About the Bone-Chilling Crime

Saurabh Rajput, who had returned from the United Kingdom, had been missing for many days. He was brutally murdered by his wife Muskaan Rastogi and his lover, Sahil Shukla and then his body was dismembered and hidden inside a cement drum. The mother of the deceased, also revealed how the police came to know of the crime. 

She said that her daughter-in-law and her lover killed her son, hid the body and then went on a trip to avoid any suspicion; when they returned from their trip, they were supposed to vacate their room and during this process, they tried to get rid of Saurabh Rajput's body. When the labourer found the cement drum very heavy, he asked what was in it and she said that there was all junk in it. The lid of the drum was uncovered a little when he smelt something foul, he immediately informed the police. 

Saurabh's mother also said that by the time the cops reached the crime site, Muskaan had already gone to her mother to confess to the crime; the victim's mother also accused Muskaan's family of knowing everything from before but trying to mislead the cops to save their daughter.

Saurabh Rajput, a Merchant Navy officer, who had recently returned from the United Kingdom, was sleeping in his house in UP's Meerut, when his wife, Muskaan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla stabbed him to death. The wife's lover then cut the victim's body into several pieces and then hid them in a cement drum.

To stay away from suspicion, Muskaan Rastogi locked the house, told the neighbours that she is going on a trip with her husband, and also posted photographs from her husband's phone, to make sure everyone thinks that everything is normal. An investigation is underway, the two accused have been arrested and questioning with family members and neighbours is underway.
