New Delhi: New Delhi: On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day , Prime Minister Narendra Modi donned a striking yellow and red striped turban on Sunday, showcasing his deep connection to India’s culture and heritage.
PM Modi’s sartorial choices have always sparked conversation, especially his signature turbans for Republic Day celebrations. This year, he complemented his turban with a white kurta-pyjama, a brown bandhgala jacket, and a pocket square.
Before attending the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path, the Prime Minister paid his respects to fallen soldiers by observing a two-minute silence, honoring the supreme sacrifices of armed personnel who have protected the nation.

This year’s Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path in New Delhi were graced by President Droupadi Murmu , Indonesia’s President H.E. Prabowo Subianto, and several other dignitaries.
PM Modi’s attire, particularly his vibrant turban, symbolizes patriotism and national pride. Taking to his official social media handle on X, he extended his Republic Day wishes.
“Happy Republic Day! Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic. We bow to all the great women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted in democracy, dignity, and unity. May this occasion strengthen our efforts towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India.”
