Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck visits Triveni Sangam at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj with UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday.
Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck had arrived in Lucknow on Monday. CM Yogi extended a warm welcome to him. He was greeted with traditional music and dance.
In a post on X, CM Yogi Adityanath said, "Hearty welcome and greetings to His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan in Uttar Pradesh, the sacred land of valour, culture and cultural harmony!"
The Mahakumbh 2025, which commenced on January 13, will continue until February 26. The event has already attracted millions of devotees from across the country and around the world and is expected to set new records for attendance and participation.
A sea of devotees took holy dip at Triveni Sangam in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on the occasion of Basant Panchami, peacefully concluding the third 'Amrit Snan' of the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela. Tight security measures were in place, ensuring a safe and orderly experience for all.

7 children forced into labour rescued from J-K's Reasi
Authorities on Tuesday launched a comprehensive drive and rescued seven children who were forced into child labour in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, officials said.
The drive was conducted jointly by the social welfare and labour departments following directions issued by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
The rescue team carried out inspections across various business establishments in the town, including shops, restaurants, dhabas, street stalls, and workshops in Reasi town, they said, adding that seven minors were rescued during these inspections.
The rescue team comprised members from multiple agencies, including the Departments of Social Welfare, Labour, Health, Police, as well as members of the Child Helpline and Child Welfare Committee, Reasi.
The team has mandated strict action against those found violating child protection laws, they said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said certain groups who are unhappy with Maha Kumbh are the same people who opposed the Ram temple in Ayodhya and vaccination during Covid 19 pandemic.
The CM made the remarks after he visited the camp of Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Ram Bhadracharya in Sector 6 of Maha Kumbh on Tuesday evening, where he met the revered saint, according to an official statement.
Addressing the gathered devotees, he described the Maha Kumbh as a grand and unique symbol of faith and Sanatan Dharma, showcasing its spiritual significance to the entire world.
During his speech, he said that some people are conspiring against Sanatana Dharma.

Kharge's effigy burned in Ballia over remark on former PM Chandra Shekhar
Supporters of Chandra Shekhar here on Tuesday burned an effigy of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge over his remarks on the late prime minister.
The angry protesters, several of them BJP members, also demanded Kharge's dismissal from the Rajya Sabha.
Chandra Shekhar, whose family also condemned Kharge's remark, was born in Ibrahimpatti village of Ballia district and represented the Ballia parliamentary seat eight times in the Lok Sabha.
Originally a Congress leader, Chandra Shekhar became a prime minister in November 1990 from Janata Party with the support of Congress. His government fell soon after though.
Kotwali Police Station SHO Yogendra Bahadur Singh told PTI that people angry with Kharge's remarks burned his effigy at TD College Chauraha of the district headquarters.
During a discussion in Rajya Sabha on Monday, as Kharge was speaking, BJP MP Neeraj Shekhar intervened and made some remarks, to which the Leader of Opposition shot back, saying he was a "friend of his father," former prime minister Chandra Shekhar.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, focusing on the prevailing security situation, counter-terrorism operations, and efforts to maintain peace in the Union Territory.
The meeting is expected to be held at the Home Ministry's North Block office on Tuesday afternoon, in the presence of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, among other officers concerned from the region.

Indian Army, IIT Guwahati Sign MoU for Epoxy Bamboo Composites
In a momentous event, Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army and IIT Guwahati signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for research, design and fabrication of Epoxy bamboo-based composites as replacement of traditional building materials used in the construction of bunkers in high altitude areas.
According to the release issued, the project will culminate in the construction of multiple defence works in high-altitude terrain for field trials, where they will be subjected to small arms fire and endure an entire weather cycle.

Bengaluru Airport Announces Flight Disruptions for Aero India 2025
With the 15th edition of Aero India scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from February 10 to 14, Kempegowda International Airport has announced temporary flight disruptions between February 5 and 14 due to airspace restrictions.
In a post on X, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR) advised the passengers to stay updated on the revised airspace closure timings and flight schedules as notified by the respective airline.
"On account of the Aero India Show from February 5 to 14, passengers travelling through BLR Airport are advised to stay updated on the revised airspace closure timings and flight schedules as notified by the respective airline. Kindly plan your travel time to and from the airport accordingly. We appreciate your patience and understanding," the post reads.

Karnataka: Two Arrested in Gadag for Rape of Minor, Blackmail
The Gadag Police of Karnataka have taken two persons into custody for allegedly raping and blackmailing a 15-year-old girl. The accused have been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, said police.
The accused have been identified as Suleman and Altaf. According to the police, Suleman allegedly raped the minor in December, while Altaf recorded a video of the incident. The duo then allegedly threatened the girl with the video, and blackmailed her thereafter.
The incident came to light when the girl confided in her parents, who subsequently filed a complaint at Naregal police station in Gadag district. The police have since taken the accused into custody and are investigating the matter further.

Maharashtra Govt Makes Speaking Marathi Compulsory in Govt Offices
The Maharashtra government on Sunday issued an order to enforce the use of Marathi in government offices. All employees in government, semi-government offices, corporations and other government-related offices have been instructed to use Marathi with all the visitors in their offices except visitors from out of India and from other non-Marathi speaking states.
"If any government officer is violating this rule, a formal complaint can be filed with the in-charge of the office or the department for necessary action. Considering it an act of official indiscipline and if the complainant is not satisfied with the action taken against the violator, complainant can appeal about the same before the Marathi language committee of Maharashtra legislature," the order read.

A 24-year-old man, who was believed to have shot himself dead after being surrounded by police, has turned out to be alive and remains at large, police here on Monday said. Rudresh alias RDX was believed to have shot himself in face on Sunday after he and another of his accomplice, hiding in a house in Naya Nohara, were surrounded by police.
