PM Modi Reaches Out to Rebel MPs From TMC, Ex-Uddhav Sena at Breakfast Meet, Assures Full Support

New Delhi: In a significant political outreach amid the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a breakfast meeting with newly inducted NDA MPs and leaders who recently switched allegiance from opposition parties, assuring them of his full support and urging them to focus on parliamentary responsibilities.

According to reports, the meeting was attended by around 26 MPs, including rebel Trinamool Congress parliamentarians and six former Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs who recently joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. During the interaction, PM Modi is learnt to have reassured the leaders, saying, "Let them talk. Don't worry. I am with you," in an apparent reference to criticism from their former parties.

The Prime Minister also encouraged the MPs to actively participate in parliamentary debates, raise constituency-specific issues, and remain connected with the people. He reportedly advised them to maintain humility while interacting with citizens and to prioritise development-oriented politics.

In a notable gesture, PM Modi is said to have addressed the former Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs in Marathi, welcoming them into the NDA fold and assuring them that the alliance stood firmly behind them. The interaction comes weeks after the six MPs formally merged with the Shinde-led Shiv Sena, a move recognised by the Lok Sabha Speaker.

The breakfast meeting also included outreach to rebel TMC MPs, who have distanced themselves from the Mamata Banerjee-led party and are seeking a separate political identity in Parliament. Sources indicated that the Prime Minister's interaction was aimed at boosting the confidence of the new entrants and strengthening coordination within the NDA.

The outreach assumes political significance as the BJP-led NDA seeks to consolidate support in Parliament ahead of key legislative business, including proposed Constitutional Amendment Bills, while continuing efforts to expand its footprint by accommodating leaders from opposition parties.
