PM Modi's Addresses To Nation LIVE: Operation Sindoor Only Paused For Now, India Will Measure Pakistan's Actions

Reacting to PM Modi's address to nation, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that the Prime Minister has put forward India's firm and clear policy towards terrorism.

"...Today in his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has firmly placed India's firm and clear policy towards terrorism before the entire world. This address is not just a statement, but an echo of the collective sentiments and self-confidence of 140 crore Indians. The Prime Minister's clear message is that now any talks with Pakistan will happen only when the subject is terrorism and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The Indian Army has not only taken a decisive step through ' Operation Sindoor ' but has also redefined the line of conflict - now if there is any terrorist attack on India, we will respond to it in our own way, in our own terms...," Rekha Gupta said.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal said, "PM Modi has given a message to the world that as per the agreement that has been made between India and Pakistan, if any incident of terrorism takes place in future, a befitting reply will be given to it and Pakistan has been clearly told that in future, if there will be any talks, then it will be only on ending terrorism on the issue of Pakistan occupied Kashmir... Through this, he has given a clear message that terror and talks cannot go together, terror and trade cannot go together..."

Washington DC-based South Asia analyst, Michael Kugelman on PM Modi's address to the nation on Operation Sindoor | “It clearly emphasised the fact that India was responding to a horrific terrorist attack that in India's view is linked to Pakistan and also not surprisingly, there are significant levels of expressions of support for the Indian military forces. I think that what really stands out is the focus on the current operation and India's position moving forward when it comes to the issue of terrorism...”

"I was really struck in his comments about India having essentially reset the terms for how it will respond to these types of attacks in the future and in terms of emphasising responding decisively and robustly and not being deterred by nuclear weapons. One of the final points he made is not distinguishing between terrorists and the government that sponsors them...," Washington DC-based South Asia analyst, Michael Kugelman said.

On PM Modi's address to the nation on Operation Sindoor, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “PM Modi has also said that terror and talks cannot happen together. PM Modi said if there will be talks, it will be only on PoK, (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir).”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Pakistan was devastated by India's attack and Pakistan's attacks were completely foiled by our defence system due to which Pakistan surrendered. Pakistan called India and told India that we have a ceasefire, after which this ceasefire happened, he added.

After Prime Minister's speech, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to X and wrote, "Nation salutes the unparalleled valour of our Armed Forces – the destroyers of our enemies and the shield of Bharat. We also salute our first line of defence, the courageous personnel of the BSF. The bravery of our forces will forever be etched in our glorious history. I congratulate PM Modi for his exemplary leadership in delivering justice to the departed souls of our innocent brothers. Time and again, PM Modi has proven that no enemy of Bharat can go unpunished."

PM Modi, while speaking on Operation Sindoor, said that this is not the era of war, but this is also not the era of terrorism. 

"We have defeated Pakistan every time on the battlefield and this time Operation Sindoor has added a new dimension... During this operation, the authenticity of our 'Made in India' weapons was proved... We all should remain united against all types of terrorism. Our unity is our biggest strength."

Addressing the nation on Operation Sindoor, PM Modi further said that many handlers of terrorists were openly roaming around in Pakistan for the last two and a half decades and were conspiring against India. India finished them at once. Pakistan was in depression and rattled at the same time, and he made the second mistake - instead of cooperating with India, it chose to attack us.

PM Modi continued his address to the nation and said that now Operation Sindoor is India's policy against terrorism. This operation has drawn a new line, it is the new normal.

During his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that after India's aggressive action, Pakistan started looking for ways to escape. Pakistan was appealing to the world to reduce tensions and after being badly beaten, the Pakistani army contacted our DGMO on the afternoon of May 10.

By then, we had destroyed the infrastructure of terrorism on a large scale and the terrorists were killed. Therefore, when Pakistan said that it would not show any further terrorist activity and military audacity, India also considered it, the Prime Minister said.

Continuing his address to the nation on Operation Sindoo, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "...Pakistan went to the world seeking help. After being hit badly, Pakistan military contacted our DGMO on May 10th..."

Speaking on Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said that India will not differentiate between the government which is under the influence of terrorists and the handlers of terrorists.

PM Modi once again made it clear to Pakistan that terror and talks, terror and trade and terror and water will not flow together. India will keep on responding to any terror attack in future on its own conditions, scale and capability.

PM Modi during his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor further said that the way Pakistan military and the government there are helping terrorism flourish there, it will end Pakistan one day. If Pakistan want to be spared, it has to abolish the terror infrastructure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor saying, "I once again want to salute the Indian Armed Forces. I also bow to the pledge of every Indian to stay united. Bharat Mata ki Jai."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor said today is Buddha Purnima, lord Buddha showed us the path of peace but he did mention that shaanti ka maarg bhi Shakti see hokar jata hai (The path for peace rides on power).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a clear message to the global community saying that if there will be talks between India and Pakistan, it will only be on terrorism and return of the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

PM Modi during his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor said that the world has seen that dirty truth of Pakistan when the high-ranked officers of the Army bid the slain terrorists adieu. There cannot be a bigger proof of state-sponsored terrorism. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor said, "…'Aatankiyo ne hamari behano ka Sindoor ujada tha isliye Bharat ne aatank ke headquarters ujaad diye'. Over 100 terrorists were killed..."

During his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that when Indian missiles and drones attacked those sites in Pakistan, it was not just the buildings of the terrorist organisations but their courage also shook.

"Terrorist sites like Bhawalpur and Muridke were the universities of global terrorism. All big terrorist attacks in the world, including 9/11 or big terrorist attacks in India, are somehow or the other connected to these terrorist sites...," he added.

In his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that no nuclear blackmail will be tolerated anymore. He added, "Terrorist attack on India will have to face a befitting reply, and the response will be on our terms."

In a firm message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on Monday said that India has only paused its Operation Sindoor but it will keep a track on Pakistan's action, measure it and decide its response based on its own conditions.

Continuing his address to the nation on Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said, “Indian armed forces attacked the terrorist sites in Pakistan. Terrorists wouldn't have dreamed that India would take such big steps... When Indian missiles and drones attacked those sites in Pakistan, it was not just the buildings of the terrorists, but their courage was thrashed...”

"Operation Sindoor is not just a name. It is a reflection of the feelings of millions of people in the country. Operation Sindoor is an unbroken pledge of justice. Late night of 6 May and morning of 7 May, the whole world has seen this pledge turning into results, PM Modi said.

During his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "We have given full freedom to the Indian army to wipe out the terrorists and today every terrorist, every terror organisation knows 'ki hamari behano, betiyon ke maathe se Sindoor hatane ka anjaam kya hota hai".

Our brave soldiers have shown unparalleled valour in achieving the objectives of Operation Sindoor. Today, I dedicate their courage, their bravery, and their heroism to them. I also dedicate this heroism to every mother, sister, and daughter of our nation, PM Modi said while addressing the nation on Monday on Operation Sindoor.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address on Operation Sindoor said that he wants to congratulate and salute the security forces and dedicate this bravery of armed forces to mothers, sisters and daughters of this country.

After Pahalgam terror attack, PM Modi in an open warning said that India will identify and bring perpetrators of terror, their handlers and backers to justice. It was after that the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor.

The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack when it carried precision airstrikes targeting various terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir on the intervening night of May 6 and May 7. 

On April 22, Pakistani backed terrorists shot dead 26 civilians including 25 Indians and one Nepalese national when they were vacationing in Kashmir.

Today's address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which will be telecast at 8 PM today, is going to be his first since Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Armed Forces to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack.
