day after Lok Janshakti Party's (LJP) leadership including union minister Ram Vilas Paswan and his son Chirag Paswan met with BJP senior leaders Amit Shah and Arun Jaitley, amid strained ties between the NDA allies, sources have cited that a seat-sharing formula has now been established and is likely to be announced on Saturday.
As per inputs, Chirag Paswan's formula has brokered a truce wherein the leader has negotiated a total of 7 seats.
The LJP, which had joined the NDA fold in 2014 after a gap of 12 years, will contest five seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar and will also get one seat in the Rajya Sabha for Ram Vilas Paswan as well as a ticket to one Lok Sabha seat from Uttar Pradesh
On December 18, Chirag Paswan had tweeted about friction with the BJP pertaining to coalition seats, wherein he further stated that the NDA alliance is going through a delicate phase.
In 2014, the LJP had contested 7 seats in the general elections and won 6 seats out of them, which included the seats fought by party chief Ram Vilas Paswam and his son Chirag.
Consequently, Ram Vilas Paswan resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat and was made the Union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies in the NDA government that came to power on 26 May, 2014.
In 2015, in the Bihar Legislative Assembly election, the party contested in an alliance with NDA. It contested 40 seats out of 243 seats in the assembly, but won only two.
