Popular television actor Dilip Joshi campaigns for BJP ahead of crucial assembly elections in Rajasthan

Popular television actor Dilip Joshi, who plays the famous character of Jethalal Champaklal Gada in comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was seen campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

After Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, it is now the turn of Rajasthan to witness mega rallies across the state. Ahead of the crucial assembly elections on December 7, both BJP and Congress is gearing up as many heavyweight politicians are dropping in to hold election campaigns. However, amid all this, popular television actor Dilip Joshi, who plays the famous character of Jethalal Champaklal Gada in comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was seen campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mr. Joshi was seeking support for BJP candidate Lalit Ostwal, who is contesting from Bari Sadri Assembly seat in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan.

Earlier, another controversy was triggered as a video of a Congress party leader came into limelight in which she can be heard saying that 'use any means to win the elections'. Congress leader Safiya Zubair Khan was addressing a gathering in Ramgarh district in poll-bound Rajasthan on November 26, from where a video was accessed by Republic TV, in which she was talking about using any tactics in order to win the elections.

Here's what she said:

"Just remember, our polling should be the highest. It is the question of my respect and of your respect. Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed (no matter what happens, it does not matter) Do whatever you can do, to win the elections. We will win the elections from here and every other region by God's will."

The Congress party on Thursday announced farm loan waiver, Goods and Services Tax (GST)-free agriculture equipment, allowance to educated unemployed youths, Right to Health Bill, and Accountability Bill among a slew of other promises in its manifesto if the party wins the Rajasthan assembly polls. Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) president Sachin Pilot, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot released the manifesto in the presence of other party leaders. "Our manifesto is not just a document, but a commitment. Its implementation will ensure holistic development of the state," said Pilot, while releasing the manifesto called 'Jan Ghoshna Patra.'
