Commenting on the shocking remark made by Congress' Vilasrao Muttemwar who said that nobody knows PM Modi's father's name, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that Congress has lost its bearings and that the people of Rajasthan will respond to the party by making them lose in the state polls.
He also mentioned the full name of Prime Minister - Narendra Damodardas Modi.
"Congress has lost its bearings since losing elections. Mani Shankar Aiyar , Raj Babbar, CP Joshi, Vilasrao ji... they have given unrestrained statements on religion, on the PM's father, on the PM's mother. The full name of the Prime Minister has his father's name - Narendra Damodardas Modi.
"They may get claps for a moment for such remarks but they will not win the polls in Rajasthan. The people in the state have self respect and will answer them in the polls. Congress will realise their mistake once the people will vote against them."
Congress' Muttemwar had said on Sunday that PM should reveal his father's name and his family history.
"What accountability are you (Modi) seeking? If you are seeking accountability, first you should reveal your history. Who knew you before you became the Prime Minister? Even today nobody knows your father's name. Everyone knows Rahul's father's name -- Rajiv Gandhi. Everyone knows Rajiv Gandhi's mother's name -- Indira Gandhi. Everyone knows Indira's father's name - Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. And everyone knows Motilal Nehru is the father of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Everyone knows five generations. But this Narendra? Nobody knows his father's name."
On Friday, Congress's Raj Babbar had attacked the Prime Minister by saying that the "rate of the Rupee had fallen as low as the Prime Minister's mother's age".
Congress leader CP Joshi made a classist remark at the Prime Minister and BJP leader Uma Bharti while addressing a gathering on Thursday. In a video accessed by Republic TV, the Congress leader could be heard questioning the caste of PM Modi and Uma Bharti.
