Rahul Gandhi's intellectual capabilities are questionable: KTR predicts BRS win in Telangana

As the stage is all set for a fierce contest between the top three parties in Telangana, the BRS, the BJP and Congress are on a roll to win the Telangana Assembly elections with a majority of seats. November 30 would be a day to see whether KCR gets a hat-trick by winning the elections for the third consecutive time or would it be Congress or the BJP to seal the power.

Speaking exclusively to the Republic Media Network, BRS working president KT Rama Rao called Rahul Gandhi an 'all-India Pappu’ and said his intellectual capabilities are questionable.

Q. On one hand you say that it will be a hat-trick for BRS and a third term for KCR as CM, whereas Congress also seems to be very confident of winning the elections. Who do you see as the CM face in Congress?

A. If the Congress believes that they will win the election, then they are entitled to it. However, I believe that the Congress has no chance in Telangana because Congress is a party which has been tried, tested and dusted. They have been given 11 opportunities to govern and they have miserably failed. So, I see no reason why Congress would be given any votes.

Q. How do you see the six guarantees of the Congress announced by Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge

A. What is this Karnataka model? Is it only about giving five hours of power or not having a proper water supply in Mallikarjun Kharge’s village? If they think that this “bakwaas” Karnataka model will work here then I believe the whole Karnataka leadership must come and campaign here.

What’s happening in Karnataka is a disaster. It’s such a miserably failed government and now coming to Telangana and talking about Karnataka is nothing but foolishness.

The party which does not have any guarantee, what warranty will it have. But one thing guaranteed is if the public votes for Congress, it would be complete chaos.

Q. Rahul Gandhi has been campaigning here and says you are the B-team of BJP because there is no ED, IT against CM KCR, What’s your say on it

A. This is the only reason why I call Rahul Gandhi the ‘all-India Pappu.’ His intellectual capabilities are seriously questionable. Does he not know that this government has been repeatedly attacked by various institutions? Rahul Gandhi is just a reader, he should do some homework and think before talking. He should have some basic knowledge about the State.

Q. Rahul Gandhi visited the Kaleshwaram barrage and said that Kaleshwaram is an ATM for KCR and his family. How do you look at it?

A. Like I said it’s beyond Rahul Gandhi's knowledge. The world's largest irrigation project is in India, in Telangana and that is the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project.

But if Rahul Gandhi believes that there was a scam behind the Kaleshwaram project, he should clarify two things. He comes and says we have looted 1 lakh crore but then how do you accuse a government or a party of a 1 lakh crore scam in a project of 80,000 crore? I think he should really dig deep into his brain.

Q. Priyanka Gandhi says that it’s a family rule in Telangana…

A. It’s pretty grand that it’s coming from Priyanka Gandhi who happens to be the child of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, who incidentally happens to be the son of Indira Gandhi, who happens to be the daughter of Jawahar Lal Nehru.

Q. During his recent public meeting in Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that CM KCR had met him to be a part of the NDA and wants to make you (KTR) the CM.

A. We are not fools to go and have an understanding with Modi or NDA. And if we have to elect any leader, we do not need to ask Modi Ji because we do not have to do anything with him.

BJP is out of the race in Telangana. They had lost it and given up even before the race had begun. Out of 119 seats, BJP had won only 1 seat in the last Assembly elections. However, this time I’m doubtful that it would even win that 1 seat.

Q. Recently, Amit Shah announced that they will have a BC member as chief minister if voted to power. Also, Kishan Reddy had said that they would cancel Muslim Reservation to benefit the BCs. How do you see that?

A. They would only fulfil all this if they win. And there’s no chance for the BJP to win the polls. They must only talk about such things by at least winning one or two seats.

Q. What’s the stand of BRS on the I.N.D.I.A bloc?

A. It’s a very simple thing, in fact, where is the alliance? In the five states, are they contesting together? I don’t see them contesting together, so I don’t know if there is any alliance anymore.

Q. How confident are you about winning the elections this time?

A. BRS is going to win more than 88 seats.
