A 26-year-old woman, who works as a hospital counselor, was waiting to return home when raped inside a parked bus at Pune's Swargate ST stand.

The accused, identified as Dattatray Ramdas Gade (36), misled the woman by telling her that the bus she was waiting for had arrived at another platform. Dattatraya Ramdas Gade has been on the run and efforts are being made by the cops to catch him.

Pune Police have launched an extensive search operation to nab the accused - identified as Dattatraya Ramdas Gade in the Pune rape case. The police are actively searching for him in and around his village, deploying advanced technology and multiple teams to track him down. To ensure the accused is not hiding in the dense sugarcane fields near his hometown, Pune Police are using drones for aerial surveillance.

Police Have Taken Enough Action, Says State Minister

Maharashtra minister of state for Home, Yogesh Ramdas Kadam, addressed a press conference on Thursday and said that the police have taken enough action in the investigation into the alleged rape of a 26-year-old woman inside a stationary state bus at the Swargate bus depot.

Pune bus rape case Live updates: Pune DCP Zone II Smartana Patil told news agency ANI that 13 teams have been formed to nab the accused, adding that further investigation in the matter is underway.

"Teams have also been sent to the bus stand, railway stations and other nearby locations. We are interrogating his family and the people who was contacted by the accused. The accused's brother was questioned yesterday and today; we will question his family," Patil added.
