The joint operation was led by Inspector Wahid Pathan and other officials from the crime branch unit 6, along with FDCA officers. During the raid, authorities discovered unhygienic production conditions and the use of harmful chemicals and synthetic ingredients to manufacture paneer. In addition to the 1,400 kg of adulterated paneer, the team also seized 400 kg of glycerol monostearate (GMS) powder, 1,800 kg of skimmed milk powder (SMP), and 718 liters of palm oil.
Health Risks and Public Safety
The seized adulterated paneer was intended for distribution in local markets, posing a severe health risk to consumers. The use of harmful chemicals and synthetic ingredients in the production process raises serious concerns about food safety and public health. Authorities have emphasized the importance of vigilance and caution when purchasing food products, urging citizens to report any suspicious activities related to food adulteration to the FDCA.
Legal Action and Investigation
The factory owner has been booked by the police. This is not the first time Salve has been involved in such activities; he was previously booked for running the same illegal adulterated paneer factory. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are determined to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
The FDCA and Pune police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of consumers by cracking down on illegal and unethical practices in the food industry.
