Rain Alert Rajasthan: IMD Predicts Showers In Several Parts of State For Next 48 Hours

Jaipur: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said that light rain is forecasted in several areas of Rajasthan in the next 48 hours. 

According to the weather office, light rain may occur in Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions, accompanied by strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. 

Western Disturbance To Bring Rain in Rajasthan

On March 21, light rain and thunderstorms are likely in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions, while the weather in most other parts of the state will remain mostly dry for the next four to five days. The highest maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 37.8 degrees Celsius in Barmer, an official statement issued by IMD said. 

Meanwhile, the Delhi government planned artificial rain trials and a large-scale anti-pollution drive to tackle rising pollution levels in Delhi-NCR. The success of water sample tests was set to determine the feasibility of the artificial rain project.

Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed that the government actively worked to reduce pollution and had already seen visible improvements.

"We have asked for detailed reports to determine whether the chemicals used in artificial rain could have any harmful effects on the human body or skin," Sirsa stated.

Based on the report, the government planned to conduct a small-scale test in an outer Delhi area. Water samples would then be analyzed to check for side effects. If successful, the project would be implemented on a larger scale.
