Rajasthan Chief Minister Leads Delegation to South Korea, Attracts Major Investments
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's South Korea visit attracted interest from major firms in healthcare, mining, and technology.
On the second day of the high-level visit led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, several South Korean firms have shown keen interest in expanding their operations to Rajasthan . Notable companies such as Samsung Healthcare, LX International, Orion Corporation, Hyosung Corporation, and the Korean Stone Association have expressed their enthusiasm for exploring business opportunities within the state.
Samsung Healthcare is looking to collaborate with Rajasthan 's Medical and Health Department to introduce AI-based healthcare devices. Meanwhile, Orion Corporation, which already operates a manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, has discussed its growth plans for the state, according to an official statement.
Diverse Opportunities and Technological Collaborations
LX International has expressed interest in mining opportunities within Rajasthan , focusing on resources like limestone (steel grade), silica, gypsum, lignite, rare earth minerals, and renewable energy. Hyosung Corporation is eager to explore the possibility of localizing carbon fiber production in India.
Additionally, the delegation participated in a roundtable discussion with the Korean Stone Association. The conversation centered around technological cooperation, purchasing and distribution, and the export of stones produced in Rajasthan . A delegation from the Korean Stone Association is expected to visit Rajasthan in October and has been invited to India Stone Mart 2026, set to take place in Jaipur in February 2026.
Educational and Skill Development Initiatives
The Rajasthan delegation also visited Seoul Technical High School to explore collaboration with the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation. Chief Minister Sharma observed the school's innovative initiatives, including advanced technical centers and AI technology being taught in classrooms. He emphasized the importance of practical skill development in preparing youth for employment.
"The focus on imparting skill development is key to provide employment to the youth. The knowledge gained by practical implementation of the skills and vocational training makes the youth more dynamic and hands-on in addition to the theoretical understanding. I welcome this esteemed institution to visit Rajasthan and set up an institution in the state," said Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Looking Ahead: 'Rising Rajasthan ' Global Investment Summit 2024
The delegation’s visit concludes as they prepare for the 'Rising Rajasthan ' Global Investment Summit 2024, scheduled for December 9th to 11th in Jaipur. The summit aims to attract global investment and foster innovation and partnerships in sectors such as Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Education and Skilling, Auto and EV, Infrastructure, Chemical and Petro-chemical, Tourism, Startups, Mining, and IT and ITeS.
The summit is organized with the support of the Industry and Commerce Department, Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP), and RIICO, with BIP serving as the nodal department.
