Secret Service Enhances PM Modi's Security In US Amidst Security Concerns
US Secret Service has enhanced PM Modi’s security during his 3-day US visit amidst security concerns in wake of Donald Trump's assassination attempts
The US Secret Service has reportedly enhanced Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s security during his three-day visit to the United States amidst security concerns in the wake of two alleged assassination attempts on former US President Donald Trump . According to the reports, PM Modi’s three-day US trip will get a Secret Service cover apart from the prime minister’s own SPG (Special Protection Group) security. As per the information, the Secret Service has enhanced the security in and around the venues, where Prime Minister Modi will visit.
Apart from the Quad Leaders’ Summit venue at President Joe Biden ’s hometown Delaware, the Secret Service Agency has beefed up security cover at venues, where PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings, the venue where he will address the Indian Diaspora, DuPont Hotel in Wilmington in Delaware where he will stay and other venues.
PM Modi Arrived In The US On His Three-Day Visit
As per his itinerary, PM Modi will be first visiting President Joe Biden 's hometown at Delaware Wilmington for the Quad Leaders’ Summit. He will be joined by US President Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida. On Saturday, he arrived in Philadelphia, where he received a rousing welcome from the Indian diaspora.
According to the reports, the Indian security agencies discussed all the security concerns with the US officials over the last two weeks. Following the discussions, the Indian and the US agencies have ensured that the areas, where PM Modi is likely to visit, are also being secured for any intruders or objects that might pose a risk.
For the Prime Minister's New York visit, the report said that the Special Protection Group (SPG) and the US Secret Service are also coordinating the proximate security.
The Quad summit is expected to discuss ways to expand cooperation among the member nations to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific besides deliberating on the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.
Prime Minister Modi will hold separate bilateral talks with all the three Quad leaders.
PM Modi US Visit:
PM Modi will attend the Quad Leaders’ Summit hosted by President Biden in Delaware’s Wilmington.
From Wilmington, PM Modi will travel to New York to attend an Indian community event at Long Island on September 22.
In New York, the prime minister will also attend a roundtable with CEOs of American firms working in areas of AI, quantum computing and semiconductors.
Prime Minister Modi will address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly on September 23.
