Security Alert at AIIMS Vijaypur as Suspected Hostile Drone Found Inside Premises

New Delhi: A security alert was sounded at AIIMS Vijaypur after a suspected hostile drone was found inside the campus this evening. The drone was found in the residential complex of the institute, after which Police rushed to the spot.

"Upon receiving the information, senior police officials rushed to the spot, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the origin and purpose of the drone. Security agencies are also probing whether the drone was being used for surveillance or any other suspicious activity," Police said.

Earlier in the day, J&K Police took a tough stand against terror supporters in the district. The Udhampur Police detained and lodged a hard-core terror associate under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA).

The accused was identified as Farooq Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Sadrota, Tehsil Lohai Malhar, District Kathua. He was involved in providing logistical support to terrorist groups and actively worked as a guide and facilitator for terrorist organisations.

Strong evidence and past records confirm his involvement in aiding and facilitating terrorist groups. In view of his activities, authorities detained him under the Public Safety Act.
