Security Forces Foil Major Threat, Multiple IEDs Recovered Across Kashmir Valley

Amid a heightened security alert, security forces on Wednesday detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the Bandipora Highway near Sunset Point during routine patrolling. The traffic movement on same highway that connects Srinagar with Bandipora was suspended.

A senior police official confirmed to Republic TV that a bomb disposal squad (BDS) was immediately deployed to neutralise the explosive. The area is being swiftly secured to prevent any untoward incident, ensuring the safety of security forces and locals.

Meanwhile, during the night hours, a similar IED was detected and successfully destroyed by joint security forces in South Kashmir’s Awantipora. The quick action averted a potential tragedy.

The recent surge in IED recoveries indicates that terrorists are desperately trying to destabilize the Kashmir Valley. Security forces remain on high alert, foiling repeated attempts to target security personnel and civilians. A day earlier, forces had neutralized IEDs in South Kashmir’s Kulgam and Shopian, as well as in North Kashmir’s Kupwara, further exposing the nefarious designs of terrorist elements.

After back to back attempts, security agencies have intensified surveillance and patrolling across sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incident.
