'Siddaramaiah Hasn't Done Anything Wrong': Congress' DK Shivakumar on MUDA Case Verdict
Shivakumar added, "I am telling you again, there is no setback to the CM."
Bengaluru: The Congress Party on Tuesday, September 24, emphasised that Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah hasn't done anything wrong and extended support for him.
Speaking to the media, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, "There is no question (of resignation) by CM. He has not done anything wrong. He is not involved with any scam. This is a political conspiracy by the BJP ...We stand by him, we support him. He has been doing a good work for the country, party and state."
This comes as the Karnataka High Court rejected Siddaramaia's plea challenging the governor's order to investigate him in the MUDA Scam.
Shivakumar added, "I am telling you again, there is no setback to the CM. It is a big conspiracy on all our leaders, including me which we have faced earlier. Didn't I come out clean?...So, we will fight it out. We respect the legal system of this country. Injustice will not be flown from the seat of justice. We will get justice."
'The CM is Not Involved in the Scam'
Congress MP Dr Syed Naseer Hussain in a conversation with ANI said that Karnataka CM is not involved In the case and asserted that the truth will come out soon.
"... BJP wants to discredit us with corruption charges. The Karnataka CM is not involved in the scam. The land is not in his name...The compensatory land was not given during the Congress rule it was given during the BJP rule...Why is Governor being so selective in giving the prosecution sanctions only to one person?... The offices of Governors in all the states are being used by the BJP to install their governments...It has not been established that the Chief Minister is involved in it. The truth will only come out when the investigation is conducted..."
'I Will Discuss With Legal Experts': Siddaramaiah After Verdict
Following the verdict, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in a press release said, "I have come to know about the contents of the high court order through the media. I will respond after reading a copy of the order. The court completely rejected the prosecution given by the Governor under Section 218. The judges are confined to Section 17A of the Governor's order."
He added, "I am not averse to any investigation. I will consult experts on whether such an investigation is allowed under the law or not. I will discuss with legal experts and decide the course of action. "
"I am confident that in the coming days, the truth will come out and the investigation under Section 17A will be quashed. The people of the state are behind me in this political fight. Is it their blessing?" he asserted.
