‘To Friends, Freedom, Fancy Meal’: Smriti Irani’s 24-Hours in New York City Post Wins Internet

New York: BJP leader and former Union Minister Smriti Irani shared a glimpse of her recent visit to New York saying it seemed 24 hours is all that she needed to make a lifetime of memories.

Taking to her Instagram page, Smriti Irani shared multiple photos including one with Indian-American celebrity chef Vikas Khanna who opened a celebrated ‘Bungalow’ in New York city and a short clip of ‘dancing heads’ with her South East Asia friends.

In one of the photos, Smriti Irani shared a portrait wearing a peach-coloured silk saree with a red and golden border in front of a zebra crossing and a standstill traffic in the background.

Describing that one can live a whole live in ‘one New York minute’, Smriti Irani said that she just spent a mere 24 hours in the city and made a lifetime of memories.

Sharing her Instagram post, Smriti wrote, “In a ‘New York’ minute… they say you can live a whole life in it. I just spent a mere 24 hours in the city. From the ever smiling, humble master chef who opened a celebrated ‘Bungalow’ in NYC to sharing the ‘dancing heads‘ tip with my friends from South East Asia at the UN, it seemed 24 hours is all that I needed to make a lifetime of memories. To friends, freedom and fancy meals.”

The former Union Minister’s post on Instagram quickly grabbed thousands of likes and went viral.

An Instagram user with the name ‘soodishita’ praised Smriti Irani saying, “My favourite lady Singham”, while another user ‘Krishnaiyerv’ wrote, “Good to see you on my Instagram feed, Ms Smriti Irani! Hope to address you as MP or Minister after the next elections.”

Another user who goes by the name ‘sagar_jaggi’ said, “It reminds of Sridevi from English Vinglish, wandering the streets of New York in a saree! Lovely pictures, Smriti Ji.”

One more user with name ‘Ravisarjapur’ shared good wishes for the BJP leader saying, “We would like to see you in the Parliament ma’am,” among many other reactions.
