RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed a gathering in Alwar on Sunday, underscoring the values of generosity and goodwill as core tenets of being Hindu. Speaking in a Hindi release, Bhagwat emphasized that the Hindu society plays a pivotal role in the nation’s progress and stability.

Bhagwat described Hindu society as the “karta-dharta” of the country, stating, “If something goes wrong in this nation, then it affects the Hindu society because it is the karta-dharta of the nation but if anything good happens in the country, it adds to the glory of Hindus.” He elaborated that what is commonly referred to as the Hindu religion is fundamentally a universal human religion.

“It embodies a global ethos focused on the well-being of everyone. To be Hindu means to be the most generous person in the world, one who embraces all, shows goodwill towards all, and descends from noble ancestors,” Bhagwat said. He advocated that true Hindu values involve using education for wisdom, wealth for charity, and power to protect the vulnerable.

Bhagwat also emphasized that anyone who embodies these values and cultural principles can be considered a Hindu, irrespective of their worship practices, language, caste, region, or dietary habits. He acknowledged that while the RSS was previously less known, it is now recognized and respected even by its critics.

“To safeguard Hindu religion, culture, and society is now crucial for the comprehensive development of the nation,” Bhagwat added. He called upon RSS volunteers to uphold and promote five key principles: social harmony, environmental stewardship, family values, self-awareness, and civic discipline.

Expressing concern over the decline of family values attributed to social media misuse, Bhagwat urged families to strengthen their bonds by gathering weekly for religious activities and shared meals. He also planted a sapling in Matru Van Park, highlighting the ongoing efforts to increase green cover as part of the PM’s ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign.

Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav and State Environment Minister Sanjay Sharma joined Bhagwat in Alwar, where he will remain until September 17. The event was attended by RSS and BJP leaders, reflecting the significance of Bhagwat’s message on Hindu values and environmental stewardship.
