Two Elderly Women Killed in Tragic Road Accident Near Thiruvallam Bypass in Thiruvananthapuram

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two elderly women after they were fatally hit by a speeding two-wheeler while attempting to cross the road near the Thiruvallam bypass on Sunday.

According to local police authorities, the victims were pedestrian bystanders walking along the busy bypass corridor when a motorcycle struck them as they moved across the stretch. 

The impact of the collision left both women with severe injuries. Emergency medical teams and residents rushed to the scene shortly after the incident was reported.

Local officers are still finalising the identities, and emergency personnel confirmed that the victims were declared dead due to the severity of the trauma sustained in the crash.

Local police from the Thiruvallam station arrived at the location to manage traffic flow, secure the scene, and initiate preliminary forensic procedures.

A case has been registered by law enforcement to determine whether speeding, reckless driving, or poor road visibility contributed to the collision.

The two-wheeler involved in the crash has been impounded, and an investigation into the precise sequence of events is currently underway.
