Lucknow: After a long wait, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the names of its new district presidents on Sunday. The appointments were made during a special program at the regional office, attended by election officers and observers.
Vijay Maurya was declared the BJP district president for Lucknow. He previously served as the general secretary. The announcement was made at Sarvodaya Nagar Paras Inn Hotel by Rajya Sabha member Dr. Dinesh Sharma, election officer Dr. Ramapati Ram Tripathi, and observer Rajneesh Maheshwari.
Anand Dwivedi was announced as the city president, retaining his previous position.
In Etawah, Arun Kumar Gupta Annu was appointed as district president. The announcement was made at the district office by District Election Officer Virendra Tiwari.
Annu Gupta, who first became a BJP councillor from Katra Balsingh ward in 2000, has served as the district general secretary for six years. His wife, Vinita Gupta, contested the Nagar Palika Adhyaksh elections in 2018. He is known as an influential leader in the Vaish community and has gained significant experience in the BJP organization over the years.
The party announced Harish Gangwar as the district president of Rampur.
Satish Diwakar was named as the BJP city president of Firozabad.
In Agra, Rajkumar Gupta was appointed as the BJP Metropolitan President, while Prashant Pauniya was declared the district president. The announcement took place at the Braj region office.
Veer Singh Bhadoria was re-elected as the BJP district president of Kannauj. The announcement was made by District Election Officer Kameshwar Singh and State Minister Pratibha Shukla.
Bhadoria has been actively involved in student politics, winning the Student Union President election in PSM Degree College in 1998. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he served as the Lok Sabha area coordinator. A total of 17 BJP leaders applied for the district president post, but Veer Singh was given the responsibility once again.
In Mathura, the BJP maintained its Brahmin and backward class balance by reappointing Nirbhay Pandey as the district president. Raju Yadav was named the metropolitan president, despite the Yadav community having a relatively small voter base.
Raju Yadav, currently the city general secretary, has been associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad from the beginning. The announcement was made at the party office in Pushpanjali Bhawan in the presence of Election Observer Anil Chaudhary, District Election Officer Nawab Singh Nagar, and Metropolitan Election Officer Vimal Sharma.
For the first time in Kanpur Dehat, a woman has been appointed as the BJP district president. Renuka Sachan, who previously served as the District President of Mahila Morcha, took charge.
The announcement was made at the BJP office by election officer and former minister Dr. Satish Dwivedi, who congratulated her. She has been politically active in rural areas and previously served as a Block Development Committee (BDC) member.
In Unnao, BJP District Vice President Anurag Awasthi was promoted to district president. The announcement was made by BJP Election Officer Rambabu Harit in the presence of State Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh.
Awasthi, originally from Badarka Achalganj and currently residing in Civil Lines, Unnao, holds an MA in Political Science. He has been associated with the BJP since 1988 and served four terms as a Municipal Council member. He also held positions as the District President of the Intellectual Cell and District Media Incharge.
After taking charge, Awasthi credited his success to his loyalty and dedication to the party’s organizational work.
