Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Yogi government to allot farm, residential land to Bangladeshi Hindu families.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced a time-bound initiative to grant legal land ownership rights to nearly 10,000 Hindu families who were displaced from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and resettled in UP between 1960 and 1975.

These Bangladeshi Hindu families fled persecution and violence during the Partition and subsequent unrest in East Pakistan and resettled in UP districts like Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bijnor, and Rampur.

Refugees were allotted agricultural land, legal ownership was never formalised due to legal and administrative hurdles. CM Yogi's initiative will now formalise these land ownerships.
