UP Horror: Wife, Lover Hire Contract Killers to Kill Husband in Auraiya

Auraiya (UP): A chilling tale of love, betrayal and murder has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district, where a wife and her lover have been arrested for conspiring to murder her husband by hiring contract killers. The shocking murder mystery raises serious concerns about the dark side of personal relationships and contract killings in the region.

Auraiya Murder Mystery 
Pragati Yadav, a woman from Auraiya, killed her husband Dileep with the help of her lover, Anurag Yadav, within 14 days of their marriage, as her parents didn't let her marry Anurag. Duo paid 2 lakh to a contract killer to do the job. 

The two plotted to get rid of Pragati’s husband, Dileep, a businessman, just to be together. Duo hired a group of contract killers to carry out the murder, making it appear as a random robbery.

Dileep, Pragati's husband, had been suspicious of her growing distance and had refused to divorce her, which only fuelled Pragati’s desperation to be with Anurag. Desiring a life free from her marriage, Pragati began to look for more extreme ways to end the situation, eventually reaching out to hire hitmen.

Auraiya Police Solved Murder Mystery 

According to police officials, "On March 19, 2025, an emergency call was received on 112, reporting that an injured person was lying in a wheat field in the Sahar police station area of Auraiya district. Initially, it appeared that the individual had been attacked by unidentified persons. The victim was later identified as Dilip Yadav, originally from Mainpuri but residing in the Dibiyapur area of Auraiya..."

Arrests and Investigation

During questioning, Pragati admitted her involvement in planning murder, citing her affair with Anurag as being the reason behind her desire to eliminate her husband.

Pragati and Anurag are now arrested. Auraiya police have also arrested 3 murder accused and recovered 2 pistols, four live cartridges and one Splendor motorcycle from their possession and successfully revealed the incident. 

They are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and engaging in criminal activities. Police also revealed that the duo had promised a sum of ₹2 lakh to the killers for carrying out the murder.
