WATCH | Drone Footage Show Security Forces Detected and Defused IED in J-K's Kulgam

Srinagar: A major tragedy was averted in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district after security forces detected and destroyed an improvised explosive device (IED) on Monday.

A patrol party noticed a suspicious object on the Shopian-Anantnag road at Qaimoh in Kulgam district. Upon closer inspection, it was confirmed to be an IED.

Traffic movement on the route was immediately suspended as a precautionary measure, and a bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called to the spot.

Security forces remained on high alert in the area to prevent any further threats.

Drone footage captured the operation, showing the IED being neutralized by the joint security forces. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

According to the official, a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot which defused the IED on the spot without causing any damage, the officials said.
