New Delhi: As several parts of India continue to reel under rain spells, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert in Maharashtra , Telangana and Odisha , predicting heavy showers on Sunday. Meanwhile, it also issued a red alert for Andhra Pradesh. The weather agency issued a yellow alert for Rajasthan , MP, Kerala and other states.

This comes as recent rain fury in Andhra Pradesh caused severe damage and many casualties were reported.

Northwest India

IMD predicted the possibility of "isolated heavy rainfall in Rajasthan on September 8, in Uttarakhand over the coming 3 days, in Uttar Pradesh on September 10 and 11, and in Rajasthan until September 9 and then again on September 13.

South India:

The IMD has predicted "isolated extremely heavy rainfall" for Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on September 8. Additionally, "isolated very heavy rainfall" is expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana on September 8 and 9. The weather department also forecasts "heavy rainfall" in Kerala until September 9, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana until September 10, and Karnataka until September 11.

East & Northeast India:

According to the IMD's September 7 bulletin, isolated very heavy rainfall is likely in Odisha until September 10, Assam and Meghalaya between September 10 and 12, and Nagaland , Manipur , Mizoram , and Tripura on September 10 and 11. Furthermore, ongoing downpours are anticipated in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until September 15, in Odisha until September 11, in Arunachal Pradesh from September 10 to 13, and in West Bengal and Sikkim over the next five days. Bihar and Jharkhand may experience heavy rainfall between September 11 and 13.

Northwest India:

The IMD has forecast "isolated heavy rainfall" in Rajasthan on September 8, in Uttarakhand over the next three days, in Uttar Pradesh on September 10 and 11, and in Rajasthan again on September 13.
