New Delhi: A day after assuming the Chief Minister office at the national capital, BJP 's Rekha Gupta in an exclusive conversation with Republic Media Network asserted the saffron party's commitment to fulfil all promises made to Delhi in the recent Assembly polls.
“I pray to god to provide us with the power to fulfil all the promises, and expectations that Delhi has from the BJP," the new Delhi CM told Republic.
When asked to respond at the first cabinet meeting, Gupta said, "As I have said earlier the commitment we have made to Delhi, is our top priority...Yesterday while performing the Yamuna Aarti we all pledged that we would clean the river no matter how much work and resources it would take."
The newly elected Delhi CM hit back at the opposition saying, "The Congress ruled for 15 years and the AAP ruled for 13. Instead of looking at what they did, how can they raise questions on one day of ours?" adding that her newly formed govt has already initiated actions.

"We had a cabinet meeting on day one, immediately after taking the oath, and we cleared the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which was blocked by AAP. We gave a benefit of Rs. 10 lakhs to the people of Delhi on the first day. They don't have any right to question us."
Taking a swipe at AAP & Congress, she further said, "They should look after their party; there are many people who want to leave... They are worried that when the CAG report will be tabled in the House, records of a lot of people would be exposed."

BJP leader Rekha Gupta, who was sworn in as Delhi's Chief Minister earlier on Thursday, chaired her first cabinet meeting shortly after and made two major announcements. She revealed that the Ayushman Bharat scheme would be implemented in Delhi with a Rs 5 lakh top-up, and that the 14 pending CAG reports would be tabled during the first Assembly session.
Speaking at a press conference, Rekha Gupta also revealed the portfolios of her council of ministers. She emphasized that the Delhi government would roll out the Centre's flagship healthcare scheme, fulfilling a pre-election promise by the BJP, which had criticized the AAP government for not implementing it.
Additionally, Gupta announced the presentation of the long-pending CAG reports that had been neglected by the AAP administration. She also highlighted that cleaning the Yamuna would be a top priority for her government. The announcement came after attending the evening Aarti along the banks of the Yamuna.
Pollution in the Yamuna was a prominent issue during the Delhi Assembly elections, with political parties exchanging barbs over pollution, encroachments, and flood management. The BJP had strongly criticized the AAP for failing to deliver on its promises to clean the Yamuna.
