Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav strongly dismissed speculations of a political realignment with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting that there was no such possibility and calling the reports "nonsense."
Yadav, the former deputy CM, addressed a press conference on Sunday after a ‘dharna’ organized by the RJD against the alleged “theft and eating up of reservations by the NDA.”
Why Would We Join Hands?
When asked whether he would join hands with his former ally ahead of the assembly elections, Yadav reacted sharply. "Why would we join hands? Why are you trying to divert attention from the issue at hand?" he said.

‘Please Do Not Talk Nonsense’
When pointed out that media reports suggested Kumar feared a leadership change within the BJP after elections and that the RJD might exploit the situation, Yadav retorted, "There is no offer from anybody. In my party, only RJD president Lalu ji and I are authorized to take any decision on alliances. Please do not talk nonsense."
He criticized Nitish Kumar’s behavior, claiming, "He is no longer in his senses, which is evident from the quality of language he has come to use in public." Recalling instances where Kumar was seen touching the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in public, Yadav remarked, "Does this behove the chief minister of a state? The day may not be far when Kumar will be falling at the feet of his two current deputies, Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary."

Yadav Accuses BJP of Working Against Reservations in Bihar
Yadav also accused the BJP of working against reservations in Bihar. "This is why the state government's lawyers in the Supreme Court are not arguing properly when the petition on quotas is heard," he alleged. The Bihar government had moved the Supreme Court to challenge the Patna High Court’s decision to set aside legislations raising quotas for deprived castes from 50 percent to 65 percent.
The RJD leader emphasized, "We are fighting to get the quotas restored. We are fighting it out in the court, as well as on the streets." He also criticized Kumar for not using his influence with the Centre to protect the legislations against judicial intervention by placing them in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.
"He (Kumar) also seems unconcerned about the need for a nationwide caste census, on the lines of the survey conducted in Bihar when we were in power together," Yadav claimed.
