Work Pressure Claims Another Life? Chennai Techie Electrocutes Self to Death
An engineer in Chennai committed suicide and died by electrocution, allegedly due to depression because of work pressure.
Chennai: A software engineer Karthikeyan, who was 38-year-old, died by suicide; the techie electrocuted himself to death in Thazhambur and according to the police, he took this drastic step due to alleged work pressure.

In another shocking incident, a 38-year-old software engineer from Chennai died by suicide; he electrocuted himself to death when he was alone at home on Thursday night. His wife had left for a trip with her friends and when she came back three days later, she couldn't get through the door as it was locked from inside; there was no response on knocking.
His wife used a second key to enter the house and that's when she saw her husband lying unconscious; he was wrapped in a power cable which was connected to the hall's main junction box.
Case Registered, Death Allegedly due to Work Pressure
A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police and an investigation is underway. As per the police reports, the engineer was allegedly suffering from depression due to work pressure and this is the reason why he may have committed suicide. The techie was undergoing treatment for depression for the past two months.
The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem to the Chrompet Government Hospital.
Second Death due to Work Pressure after Anna Sebastian
The news of this death comes days after the death of Anna Sebastian Perayil, an employee of the Ernst and Young who allegedly died due to excessive work pressure. Anna's mother wrote a letter to the India Head of EY and spoke about how her daughter was pressurised at work.
