New Delhi: Good news for train passengers! Indian Railways has introduced a new facility, allowing passengers to change their boarding station even up to four hours before the scheduled departure of the train. Earlier, passengers had to make such changes at least 24 hours before departure. This new rule aims to provide more flexibility and convenience for travelers.
With this change, the Indian Railways has updated the IRCTC ticketing system to make it easier for passengers to manage their travel plans. Additionally, passengers can now change their boarding station more than once, without having to pay extra fare. However, please note that if you make the change within 24 hours of departure, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Follow these simple steps to change your boarding station on IRCTC:
1. Visit the Official IRCTC Website: Go to [irctc.co.in](https://www.irctc.co.in).
2. Log In: Enter your username and password on the homepage to log in.
3. Navigate to 'My Account': Once logged in, go to the ‘My Account’ section.
4. Select 'My Transactions' and 'Booked Ticket History': Find the ‘My Transactions’ option and click on ‘Booked Ticket History.’
5. Choose Your Ticket: On the Booked Ticket History page, select the ticket for which you want to change the boarding station.
6. Select 'Change Boarding Point': Click on the ‘Change Boarding Point’ option.
7. Choose Your New Boarding Station: A new window will open with a list of stations along your selected train route. Choose your desired boarding point.
8. Confirm the Change: On the confirmation page, click ‘OK’ to finalize the change.
9. Get Confirmation: You will receive an alert message confirming that the boarding station has been successfully updated.
10. Receive Update on Mobile: An updated boarding point message will be sent to the mobile number you provided during booking.
Changing your boarding station within 24 hours of departure will make you ineligible for a refund.
You can change your boarding station multiple times without incurring additional charges.
This new rule aims to provide greater flexibility for train passengers, ensuring a smoother travel experience.
