Paper boxes are easy to make and are very convenient for regular use to store essential belongings. This quick & attractive DIY paper boxes require bare minimum items to be made and hence are inexpensive. You can also use spare or discarded papers for making these beautiful boxes. Follow these simple guidelines and make pretty paper boxes at home.

Required Material:

• Plain or patterned rectangular colour papers

Procedure:

• Fold the paper vertically into half-length. Do crease the folds well with the help of fingernail or a coin or ruler.
• Take the edge of the paper and line it with the crease at the centre. Unfold the paper, and it should be now sectioned in quarters widthwise.
• Fold the entire paper into half lengthwise again. Unfold it again, and now it should turn out in eight equal sections.
• Fold the short corner sides towards the centre crease. You should have four new sections sidewise. At this stage, the paper should have 16 sections. Keep the paper folded lengthwise this time, and do not unfold it.
• Now you have to line the corners with the nearest crease lengthwise. The folded corners will form right triangles and will ultimately appear like an uneven octagon.
• Keep a piece of paper between the centres edged crease and the newly folded corner edge such that it creates a flap.
• Fold the flaps from the middle down over the triangles that you created in the steps mentioned previously. This will open the centre of the paper, and you will be able to see the centre crease inside the box.
• In case you are making a fancy box or for gifting during festive purposes, you can use patterned paper and some extra decorative items.
• Now pull up on the two flaps and grip them by the middle through the creases. Your complete paper box is ready for use.
• To make it firm, re-crease some of the folds so that the box is steadier.
• For adding some special effect, you can use some colourful glitter pens to draw something interesting or write some catchy quotes on the box.
