Aishwarya Rai’s life before acting journey

Aishwarya Rai won the Miss World 1994 pageant and later established herself as one of the most-popular and influential celebrities in India. Rai made her acting debut in 1997 with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar, a semi-biographical political drama co-starring Mohanlal, Prakash Raj, Tabu and Revathi. The film was a critical success.
