Exfoliation

  • Exfoliation is absolutely important for maintaining the health of your skin. However, unnecessary exfoliation can lead to excessive oil production. So mild exfoliation is always advised for oily skin.

Preparing the skin

  • The first step before makeup is to cleanse the skin. You need to cleanse the pores perfectly and carefully and get rid of oil and dirt. This will definitely help your makeup stay for a longer time.

Closing of pores

  • People who have oily skin will always find their makeup products caking up on the skin surface and clogging the pores. This also leads to ugly breakouts. Hence for this, it is essential to tone the skin to moderately close down the pores after cleansing.

Primer

  • If you want your makeup to stick to your skin for longer than 5 hours on your face without withering off, then you must start your base by applying a matte primer. It will also help your makeup to stick firmly on the face for longer hours and look better.

The right concealer selection

  • For concealer users, it is advisable always to go for stick concealer and blend it with ring fingertip rather than with makeup brushes or sponges. Never opt for an oil-based liquid concealer. You can even go for spot corrector concealer pens that can be better for your skin type.

The right foundation selection

  • The selection of a perfect long-lasting foundation for oily skin is an important part of makeup. It would mean basically selecting something without the oil or fragrance.

Right Application Technique for oily skin

  • For oily skin, it is advised to apply foundation with a foundation brush since it helps you to cover those pores precisely. It also makes your makeup stay longer and look perfect. For those having dark spots, it is best to use the tip of your ring finger. Avoid makeup sponges as much as possible.

The right Applicator

  • It is good if you use a brush for eye shadow application as it gently and fully covers the tiny pores on and around the eyelid. So shadow stays on pores, and the makeup also sticks better to skin.

Avoid stick or mousse blush

  • Stick blush will not blend in well or stay long on oily skin. Mousse blush can make your skin even oilier.
