What is Diwali? Is Deepavali celebrated on October 31 or November 1?

According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious time for Lakshmi Puja which is the most significant ritual of Diwali—this year starts at 5:36 pm and ends at 6:16 pm on Friday, November 1, 2024.
Pradosh period starts from 5:43 pm to 8:17 pm. The Taurus period starts from 6:28 pm to 8:24 pm. Laxmi Puja Muhurat without fixed Lagna.
Amavasya date starts on October 31, 2024, at 03:52 pm and ends on November 01, 2024, at 6:16 pm.
