Durga Puja deemed as the 'heartbeat of the Bengali identity, art, and culture' by the West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee is a five-day festival during which devotees worship the varying forms of Goddess Durga, marking the victory of good over evil. This year the festival is commemorated from October 9 to October 13.

While the festival is celebrated with the highest level of exuberance in Kolkata, cities like Mumbai, and Delhi are not far behind in joining the festive mood that connects Bengali's residing in every corner of India. Have a look at the pandals that you must-visit in 2024.

Kabiraj Bagan Sarbojonin Durgotsav: Underwater metro

In a move to celebrate the existence of India's first underwater metro, the Kabiraj Bagan intends to recreate the iconic Howrah Bridge, and walkway that allows visit to enter a metro on their way to the central puja area.

College Square: Switzerland Parliament House

This lake-side puja locale has always enticed festive -goers to commute to this north Kolkata pandal spot. In 2024, the theme that's been decided is to recreate the Switzerland Parliament House, including amusing activities for people such as a laser show, and a Durga Puja structure that will leave onlooker speechless. Padmashri Sculptor Sanatan Rudra Pal has made the idol that'll be placed in the College Square pandal.

Mela Ground, Chittaranjan Park, Delhi

Chittaranjan Park, that people popularly call CR Park is the destination for Delhiites to witness the mela that ensues around Durga Puja. People are seen dressed in traditional attires, the smell of festive Bengali food spreads across the by-lanes of this south-east Delhi neighbourhood. In the 49th year of Durga Puja festivities at Mela-ground, CR Park, the expected crowd er day extends over the lakh mark.
