Pizza or phones?

Such bizarre offers by eateries are no new feat. Earlier in June, the Curry Pizza Company in Fresno, California was offering a free large pizza for their next visit, or to take home to a group of at least four people if they promise to lock up their phones in the restaurants' lockers, according to a US news agency. The scheme dubbed the 'Talk to Each Other Discount' was the brain-child of one of the co-owners Varinder Malhi, who thought of this after unplugging from his phone at home.

The 'United Indian Thali'

Similarly, back home in April, amidst all the political differences, ruptures in alliances, politicians jumping ship and their supporters clashing with each other, Delhi-based restaurant Ardor 2.1 was offering the 'United India Thali'. The Thali was a confluence of 28 different dishes for each state in the country. Ironically, no union territories were included. The humungous thali weighs 10.5 kilos and consists of several dishes from the north-south-east-west and center including Galouti Kebabs from UP, Bati Chokha from Bihar, Momos from the Eastern Sisters, Prawn curry from Goa, Dum Biryani from Hyderabad, Dhokla from Gujarat and the classic Maharashtrian tiffin, according to Knocksense.
