Ayurveda teaches that the key to a good and fit life lies in the ability to digest the food you eat. It does not only deal with the tangible factors like foods and drinks but also includes the environment that you eat in. Eat-in a peaceful environment

With the fast-paced lives that people lead, it has become impossible to actually sit and eat anything. However, by spending just a few minutes on focusing your eating pattern can make a huge difference. When you actually sit and eat you can focus on how much you eat and what you put in your body. If you are multitasking while eating your attention is divided and it also affects your chewing. Hence we tend to gulp without chewing properly, which is unhealthy.

Consume freshly cooked foods

Ayurveda believes that in order to feel fresh you must eat fresh. The whole ordeal of cooking, heating and reheating isn’t considered ideal according to Ayurveda. It believes that the leftover food loses 'life' and hence ends up making you feel tired and sluggish. Eating a freshly cooked meal every time you eat is a must according to Ayurveda.

Have your biggest meal at lunch

According to studies, our digestive system secrets a higher level of digestive juices during midday. Your body is shutting off and getting ready to sleep in the evening and hence the digestive fire is quite less at night. Having a large meal during lunch provides enough time for your body to digest the food before going to bed. If you have a large meal at dinner, your body does not get enough time to digest it, and hence you are left feeling bloated.

Keep sipping on Ginger tea throughout the day

Ginger has a lot of healing properties that help with release symptoms of gas and cramping. It has been reported that ginger has been used for more than 2,000 years to treat digestive problems. According to a study in the European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, it has been found that ginger helps in moving the food from the stomach to the intestine. It also aids digestion by stimulating gastric enzymes, bile, and saliva, which are used in the process of digestion.
